19:45

[following two entries written by other people]

A small, quiet gathering at Steve and Colleen's this evening. I was greeted by kids wanting their hugs. One of the kids was Katy. Last time I saw her, she was still injured/recovering from her injury. Now she' shelthy and playing like crazy. Besides Steve, Colleen, and Katy, Jessie, Todd (non-Callahans), Ed Falk (non-Callahans), Randolph Fritz, and myself are here. Hugh Daniels arrives later. When I see someone I don't recognise, I guess "Taldin?" "No, Danger Mouse." Not having read a physical description of DM, he wasn't what I physically expected. I was expecting someone who fit an English stereotype. This guy is tall, dark, handsome, and friendly! He gives great hugs, too. Jane (Jilara) and Phil (Alaric) arrived while I was writing this.

I'm Carole Parker, and I've been abend from Callahans since January. Physically, I have long red hair, blue eyes, freckles, and I'm 5'9" (175-177 cm). I'll let you decide how else to describe me.

DM, it is always nice to put a face with a name. I hope you enjoy your journey here and have fun. Best regards, Carole Parker.

Let's see... who's next???

Carole is showing a gift for understatement - this "small quiet gathering" has three nosy kids and some very loud adults (to be continued). We just got back from the "audio-kinetic sculpture" (i.e. complicated thing with billiard balls and lots of fiddly bits). We watched it for half an hour and wandered into San Jose's new downtown and DM took a few pictures. It's quieter here, no, at Colleen's. A few more people have shown up and the kids have gone to bed. Thanks for a reason to go downtown, DM. Randolph.

Just so I don't forget... Callahan's people here at Grand Central Starport:

01:30 Thursday

The party is finally over! It was fun but tiring. Not without some trauma requiring hugs for Colleen. I met some neat people. And Grendel.

The day began with a croissant brekky. Then Colleen drove us (her and me) to Lisa's Tea Treasures, where I bought a can of Earl Greyer tea. Neat shop! Then to the Winchester Mystery House, where we took the indoor tour. Much fun and way cool. Definitely a good place to see!

Then came back here via a cake shop which had the biggest, tallest cake I have ever seen! We got a chocolate fudge cake for the party. Arrived back at the Starport, and people started to arrive! Pizza was ordered and eaten.

Then Randolph drove me and Carole and Ed out to the kinetic sculpture at the Tech Museum. We watched it for about half an hour, then wandered off to a photogenic spot, where I wasted two shots with the wrong exposure. Retook photos. Came back here. Relaxed, talked, hugged, ate cake all night. Much fun. Now sleep.
