Missed last night - too tired.

We drove back to Las Vegas from Flagstaff, stopping at the Hoover Dam on the way.

The whole dam thing
Hoover Dam

It was hot at the dam - 44°C. We took a guided tour and saw the huge electricity generators and the tunnels hewn through the solid rock by the hard labour of over 50,000 Depression-time Americans for only 50 cents an hour. It's an amazing dam.

Then we came to Las Vegas and took a room at the San Rémo hotel/casino. We cruised over to Caesars Palace - very impressive - and I managed to break even with $5 in quarters on the slots. I played $1 on draw poker and broke even. The payout was a Caesars token, which I kept as a souvenir.

We came back here to the room and then walked over to the Tropicana and Excalibur. Then home and to sleep. Colleen gambled a bit after the rest of us went to sleep - and won $25 on the horse racing machine with just a single quarter. Well done!

Oh, for dinner we ate at Garcia's Mexican Restaurant. Very good chimichangas.

Today [i.e. Monday] it's home to Fairfield!
