23:48

Hello again!

We got off to a late start today. I woke and rose just after 09:00. Breakfast was the American version of Kellogg's Just Right. No puffed wheat!

Allison and I headed out to Sacramento just after 11:00 or so.

We browsed around the California State Capitol building for a while. It was hot in Sacramento!

Then we strolled through the Capitol Park. We saw real live American squirrels! Lots of them, all over the park. They were too smart to pose for photos without payment in food, however.

Speaking of food, we went over to Old Sacramento for lunch. Club sandwich for me and French custard toast (sounds weird) for Allison. Then we inspected the California State Railroad Museum. Amazing place! Built right over old rails!

The trains on display were on old tracks and could be moved out to usable tracks if they ever wanted to move them. There was the biggest, most humongous engine I have ever seen in there. The second biggest in the world, apparently. Also, the original painting "The Last Spike" [by painter Thomas Hill], showing the joining of the US Transcontinental Railroad.

After that we browsed around various junk shops until about 04:00 when we came home. After a bit of relaxation and nuked leftovers for dinner, we went over to Allison/Colleen's flat. I watched INXS videos while Allison packed for tomorrow's big move to her new place in Sonoma.

Besides helping to move her TV, tomorrow Allison said I could rest and relax. I think I need it!
