Acropolis An Earth-like world 24.68 parsecs from Earth. Clones are legally slaves. World where Ogier and Sirene were taken following their kidnapping by Levin Taksin. [Atlas entry | 17 | 18 | 19]
Acropolis Gamma Highport One of three orbital spaceports around Acropolis. Connected to Acropolis by an orbital beanstalk. Starport from where the Argonaut was stolen. [17 | 19]
Albert Town Capital city of Inverness. [14 | 15]
Amarossi, Judge Judge with the Royal Judicial Office of Rubilith. Adjudicated in the case of the Argonaut crew and Professor Byron Smythe, arested for firearms offences on starport property. [12]
Anaconda Sea-going ship on Oceania. Met the Sirius in the Arras Islands region and tried to warn the crew of ambush by the cult of the Larrokite god Rugooblipp. [20]
Antoine, Kennedy Owner of the Green Pagoda bar in Albert Town, Inverness. Member of an underground anti-government movement aimed at eliminating gladiatorial contests and removing the class-based oppression of much of the population. Broke his friend Sargon out of the gladiatorial prison with the help of the Argonaut crew. [14 | 15]
Arawne An Earth-like world 5.90 parsecs from Earth. Gateway world to the colony of Dashgad. World where the Legacy was left for an engine refit while the crew continued their adventures elsewhere. Residence of the exiled Queen Natasha of Rubilith. [Atlas entry | 8 | 11 | 16 | 17 | 19 | 24 | 25]
Arawne Colonial Office Branch of the Arawne Government responsible for the administration and development of Arawne's colony worlds. [8 | 10 | 11]
Argonaut Free trader ship owned and operated by Captain Paris Smith. Hired by the Legacy crew to travel to a world where they could purchase a new engine for their own ship, and subsequently used for several further trips until the engine was bought and fitted. [11]
Arras Islands Small archipelago about midway between Flargess and Beldano on Oceania. Alleged region of dangerous pirate activity. Location of secret underwater city used by cultists of the Larrokite god Rugooblipp. [20]
Aurora Slime boat taking part in a race on Vallauris. The Legacy crew accidentally found themselves on the boat and guided it to third place in the race, despite the loss of the captain and several crew overboard. [23]
Banforth A cold, wet planet, 64.39 parsecs from Earth. Where the Legacy was almost stranded by a cargo handler's strike. [Atlas entry | 24]
Bartrame Crystal Mining Mining company based in Justin on Bollux. Specialises in mining gemstones and crystals. Head office is on the 36th floor of the Garrick Building. [6]
Beldano City on Oceania and port of call for the Legacy. An underwater city, with a floating spaceport above. [20 | 21]
Bereman, Dr Octar Chief medical officer with the Rubilith Office of Customs and Trade. [11]
Bluefields Royal Guard Base and military spaceport on Rubilith. Situated near the planet's terminator, near a cold sea. Site of initial rebel action in the takeover of Rubilith, by Orionis corporate forces and traitorous Royal Guard members. [13]
BMM Limited Mining company on Banforth. The Legacy delivered a supply of Plastex-B to a small BMM Limited mining base, to circumvent a strike by the main spaceport cargo handlers. [24]
Bollux A desert world 17.74 parsecs from Earth, known for its gemstones. Where the Legacy crew picked up Sirene Song, after a wilderness emerald hunt. [Atlas entry | 5 | 6]
Brent VVN News reporter covering slime boat races on Vallauris. [23]
Canary II Ship registered on Bollux. Sent distress call and was answered by the Legacy, which rescued the crew. [5]
Carter, Dixon Member of the Royal Rubilith Guard. Assigned to protect Queen Natasha IV at the time rebels stormed the palace. Accompanied Natasha to Arawne where she lives in exile. [13 | 15]
Catalyst crystals Chemically active crystals which dissolve in water, releasing massive amounts of heat energy. A small sachet is enough to boil a couple of litres of water. [15 | 20]
Charlie's Bar Bar in Turand on Vallauris. Where Captain Smith met Orto Satler and paid him blackmail money. [22]
Chikrel An uninhabited planet in a system near Lyrane. The atmosphere is mostly carbon dioxide, but the world is interesting because it has extensive Precursor remains. [Atlas entry | 2 | 3]
Chung, Officer Alias of a man posing as a European police officer serving at Copenhagen Spaceport on Earth. Attempted to capture the crew of the Legacy on orders from the Durogen clone smuggling conspiracy. [7]
Conrad, Viscount Senior advisor to Queen Natasha IV of Rubilith. Hired the Argonaut crew for a risky counter-insurgency operation labelled Operation Orionis, but was really coordinating the rebellion and setting the crew up as scapegoats. Organised for rebel forces to storm the royal palace and take control of the government. [12 | 13 | 24 | 25]
Copenhagen Spaceport A major spaceport on Earth. Site of the veterinary practice which was destroyed along with the Legacy crew's pet rabbit. [7]
Darneld, Operations Officer An operations officer at Planteth Spaceport on Arawne. Informed the Legacy crew that Ogier and Sirene had gone missing. [16]
Dashgad A cold colony world, owned by Arawne, 8.30 parsecs from Earth. Moon of the gas giant Masia. Site of a small farming community who farm the native dashgoats for egg powder, until attack by native predators, which the Legacy crew helped defend against. [Atlas entry | 8 | 9 | 10 | 19]
Dashgoats Large insectoid creatures native to Dashgad. Farmed for their eggs, which are powdered and used in medicinals. [8 | 9]
Demeter Gladiator Prison Prison in Albert Town, Inverness. Place where Sargon was incacerated, and then busted out by Kennedy Antoine and the Argonaut crew. [15]
Derrys, Captain Captain of the Kamana, the catamaran hired by Serron from Flargess to Beldano on Oceania. [21]
Deux-Sevres A cool world, 21.48 parsecs from Earth. The intnded destination of the attempted hijacking of the Legacy by Sam Weston and Melissa Green. [Atlas entry | 3]
DNAgency, The A bio-engineering company on Arawne specialising in DNA sampling, modification and cloning technology. Its Chief Executive is Lavin Taksin. Durogen of Acropolis holds a major part of the company's stock. [16 | 17]
Drosophila Small passenger starship operated by The DNAgency from Arawne. The ship on which Ogier and Sirene were transported to Acropolis following their kidnapping. [16 | 17]
Durogen A bio-engineering company on Acropolis. Major stockholder in The DNAgency on Arawne. Involved in an operation to clone politicians on Lyrane. [17 | 18]
Earth The home world of humans and the registration world of the Legacy. [Atlas entry | 1 | 7]
Empath Free trader ship on which the Legacy sought passage from Acropolis to Arawne with a subcontracted cargo of rare woods. [19]
Explo The annual explosives expo on Vallauris. The Legacy crew attended the Explo in Turand, and foiled a plot by terrorists to cause a huge explosion. [22]
Fergy, John Local representative of Gabatih Haulage on the world of Dashgad. Hired the Legacy crew to pick up a load of cargo from John Fergy's outlying farm and ship it to Arawne. [8 | 9]
Flargess City on Oceania. Pick-up point for a cargo of seafood taken on by the Legacy crew. [20]
Floyd Robotic chef and cooking unit, acquired by Lycroft on Arawne. Unclaimed by any owner at Planteth Spaceport, so adopted by the crew of the Legacy and named by Tepi. [19 | 21 | 22]
Franklin, Lieutenant Member of the Royal Guard at Rubilith Central Starport. Entered case notes for the arrest of the Argonaut crew and Professor Byron Smythe for firearms offences on starport property. [12]
Gabatith Haulage A small company which exports dashgoat egg powder from Dashgad. Hired the Legacy crew to pick up a load of cargo from John Fergy's outlying farm and ship it to Arawne. [8 | 10]
Gachiddik A Pachekki delicacy. [8]
Galactic Interstellar Commerce Agreement Agreement between many worlds on rules governing interstellar commerce, customs, tariffs, etc, including regulations regarding piracy, smuggling, and quarantine procedures. [11]
GalBank An interstellar banking company, offering savings, credit, and loans on all worlds with class IV starports within 100 parsecs of Earth. [1]
Gallorob A town on Lyrane in the country of Lyratia. Situated near the southern ice cap, the town is mostly populated by Larrokites. [3]
Garrick Building Head office of Bartrame Crystal Mining in the city of Justin on Bollux. [6]
Grant, Constable Terence Police officer in Albert Town, Inverness. Filed incident report on a marketplace commotion involving Spanners and Iki Piki escaping from the surveillance of an Inverness Royal Guardsman. [15]
Green, Melissa Archaeology Ph.D. student studying under the supervision of Professor Byron Smythe. Member of the expedition to explore Precursor ruins on the planet Chikrel. Responsible, with Sam Weston, for the subsequent hijacking of the Legacy, theft of Precursor artefacts, and the attempt to kill the Legacy crew. [2 | 3]

Greener, Sergeant Holden Leader of the small military squadron stationed on the colony on Dashgad. [9 | 10]
Gruncha soup A Sparrial delicacy. [19]
Hallspire Spaceport Major spaceport on Bollux, near the city of Justin. [5]
Hampstead Spaceport A major spaceport on Banforth. Where the Legacy filed a false flight plan to in order to travel to a BMM Mining base to unload cargo in violation of a dock worker's strike. [24]
Harald, Archbishop Leader of the Church of Inverness. A conservative old man, Harald exerts much influence over King Shaun and the government of Inverness, effectively ruling the planet. [14]
Harcourt Shipyards Starship building company based on Rubilith. Involved in corporate rebellion against Queen Natasha's government. Attempted to get Argonaut crew to infiltrate the royal palace. [11]
Harrison, Officer Alias of a man posing as a European police officer serving at Copenhagen Spaceport on Earth. Attempted to capture the crew of the Legacy on orders from the Durogen clone smuggling conspiracy. [7]
Harungard Industries Multistellar company which produces nuclear fusion starship engines. [8]
Harvey, Admiral Henneth Fleet commander of the attack fleet sent from Arawne to retake Rubilith from the rebel government led by Viscount Conrad. [25]

Iki Piki A Pachekki player character. Iki has a kind of odd background, having been trained in science and the art of diplomacy. [character sheet]
Inverness Tide-locked desert world 18.05 parsecs from Earth. Constitutional monarchy governed by King Shaun III, but effectively run by the Church of Inverness. Highly class-based and decadent culture, with gladiatorial combat. [Atlas entry | 14 | 15 | 25]
Irrikhamm Shipping Company on Arawne who contracted the Legacy crew to take a shipment of computers to Oceania. Target of a ploy by Baldomero Muehlegg to make money by bribing the Legacy crew to delay shipment. [19]

Jang, Chi Farmhand working for John Parnaby on Dashgad. [8 | 9]
Jenkins Crew member of the Canary II. Stranded in space during an EVA, rescued by the Legacy, whereupon he got into a fight with Serron on the Legacy bridge, causing the blaster scorch mark on the bridge rear wall. [5]
Johnson, Detective Member of Yandis Federal Police on Lyrane. Questioned the Legacy crew concerning the matter of Dr Phineas Rutherford's cryogenic slave smuggling operation. [4]
Juan Fangio Free trading vessel destroyed in an explosion at Copenhagen Spaceport on Earth. It is suspected the Juan Fangio may have been targeted mistakenly by people searching for the Legacy. [7 | 18]

Malley, Gerard Owner of the Tyrolean Bookshop in Albert Town, Inverness. Sympathiser with the anti-government movement. Helped Kennedy Antoine break Sargon out of gladiator prison by allowing an escape tunnel to be dug from his shop. [15]

Mirrinlaralee Sparrial, mentor of Serron and former owner of the Legacy. Now deceased; bequeathed the Legacy to Serron and his friends Iki Piki, Ogier Spacebourne, and Spanners. [1]
Morburg, Dr Quarantine inspection medical officer on Acropolis Gamma Highport. Informed the Legacy crew that Serron, Iki Piki and Spanners were clones, based on DNA tests. [17]
Muehlegg, Baldomero Stockbroker on Arawne. Approached the Legacy crew with a proposition to delay their cargo to Oceania, so he could make a fortune on the stock market from the drop in price of Irrikhamm Shipping and share it with them. [19]
Natasha IV, Queen Reigning monarch of Rubilith. Young and ambitious; attempting to restore the power of the monarchy after the reign of her decadent uncle, King Wilhelm. Deposed by a corporate revolution after she attempted to wrest control of the planet from their de facto rule. Operation Orionis Name of the traitorous operation in which Viscount Conrad arranged for traitors within the Royal Rubilith Guard to take control of a Royal Guard base. [13]
Orionis Corporation based on Rubilith which manufactures military vehicles. Used by Viscount Conrad as instigators of an attack on Royal troops, allowing traitors within the Royal Guard to take control of a Royal Guard base. [12 | 13]
Packing foam Aerosol foam which is used when packing starship cargo. It sprays similar to shaving cream, but quickly sets into a solid mass to prevent movement of the items being packed. Can be dissolved by a suitable solvent. [1 | 19 | 22 | 24 | 25]

Precursors Long-vanished and mysterious aliens who left relics on various planets. Precursor ruins and sites are explored, excavated, studied, and theorised over by archaeologists. [2]

Redhawk Pseudonym of an operative on Lyrane, in communication with Durogen on Acropolis about the plot to clone Lyrane politicians. [18]
Renson, Malcolm Investigating Officer with the Royal Guard at Rubilith Central Starport. Submitted report on the arrest of the Argonaut crew and Professor Byron Smythe for firearms offences on starport property. [12]

Rolson, Emmett Business tycoon on Lyrane. Arrested for purchasing slaves from Dr Phineas Rutherford. The slaves were 450 year old bodies cryogenically frozen, but revived by Dr Rutherford after smuggling them into Lyrane on board the Legacy. [4]

Rubilith Royal Office of Customs
and Trade
Government authority responsible for interstellar traffic regulation between Rubilith and other worlds. Received notification that the inbound crew on the Argonaut may have been infected with a contagious disease and imposed quarantine regulations as necessary. [11]
Rugooblipp Mysterious Larrokite god whose worshippers form a sacrifical doomsday cult. The cult tried to kidnap and sacrifice Tepi when the Legacy crew were on Oceania. [20]
Rutherford, Dr Phineas A retired doctor, who sought passage on the Legacy from Earth to his retirement home on Lyrane. It turned out his luggage was frozen bodies he was planning to revive and sell as slaves. [1 | 4]
Saint Patrick Markets Famous open air market in Albert Town, Inverness. Site of an incident involving Spanners and Iki Piki escaping from the surveillance of an Inverness Royal Guardsman. [15]
Sargon Famous gladiator on Inverness. Member of an underground anti-government movement aimed at eliminating gladiatorial contests and removing the class-based oppression of much of the population. Arrested and sentenced to gladiatorial combat for this crime. [14 | 15]
Sarwun Spaceport A major spaceport on Banforth. Where the Legacy crew landed only to discover they could not unload cargo because of a handler's strike. [24]
Satler, Orto Mechanic at Turand City Starport on Vallauris. Witnessed starship crash for which Captain Smith is being sought by authorities and blackmailed Smith for money to buy his silence. Hired by terrorist Jaktar Prido to arrange an explosion at the Vallauris Explo, but shot by Iki Piki before he could finish wiring the bomb. [22]
Selvar, Burton Leader of a band of clone rebels on the Acropolis Gamma Highport beanstalk car. Intent on blowing up the cable and causing it to crash to Acropolis, causing widespread destruction. [17]
Sendak, Maxwell Travelling salesman with a wide catalogue of goods to offer. Took passage on the Legacy from Arawne to Dashgad to sell his wares to the colony's farming community. Helped with subsequen defence of the colony against attacking predators. [8 | 9 | 10]

Shadows of Forgotten Aliens Popular multimedia book on xeno-archaeology, written by Professor Byron Smythe. [2]
Shaun III, King Reigning monarch of Inverness. Midle-aged man, planning to marry his son Prince Patrick to Queen Natasha IV of Rubilith, in order to cement relations between the planets, and incidentally give him power over Rubilith. [14 | 23]
Simpson, John Head of the Durogen office in Serifos on Acropolis. [18]
Sirius Sea-going ship commanded by Captain Stecker on Oceania. Hired by the Legacy crew to ship their cargo from Flargess to Beldano. [20 | 21]
Slemmons, Scooter Crew member on the slime boat Aurora. [23]
Slime Boat Races Series of races held on Vallauris, in which boat hulls are fitted with sails and raced down mountainsides, sliding along on the layers of slime which cover most of the planet. [22 | 23]
Smit Town Only town on the world of Dashgad. A small underground settlement, in an artificial cavern, out of the hostile atmosphere. [8 | 9 | 10]
Smith, Captain Paris D. A human player character. Pilot. [character sheet]
Smythe, Professor Byron A respected archaeologist, resident on Lyrane. Tenured at the University of Sennier since 2757, head of xenoarchaeology department since 2771. Author of several respected papers on xenoarchaeology, as well as the popular multimedia works Shadows of Forgotten Aliens and The Prehistory of Human Space. Leader of many archaeological expeditions to Precursor ruins on various planets. Member of the Yandis Academy of Sciences, including a term as President from 2772-2773. Never married. Independently wealthy.
Hired the Legacy and crew for an expedition to explore Precursor ruins on the planet Chikrel. The expedition was later hijacked by Sam Weston and Melissa Green, who stole artefacts, attempted to kill the Legacy crew, and framed Smythe and the Legacy crew in the eyes of each other.
Traced the Legacy crew to Rubilith and confronted them. The court on Rubilith resolved the issue, though the Legacy crew remain suspicious. Smythe later helped the Legacy crew in the events of the rebellion against Queen Natasha. [2 | 3 | 11 | 12 | 13 | 14]

Surmik, Jarren Intelligence Officer with the Royal Rubilith Guard. Hired by Professor Byron Smythe while on an undercover mission to penetrate corporate rebels, and used by Smythe to apprehend the Argonaut crew. Taksin, Levin Chief Executive of The DNAgency, a bio-engineering company on Arawne specialising in DNA sampling, modification and cloning technology. Suspected of minor smuggling of copyrighted biotechnology products into and out of Arawne.
